The old house felt oppressive, the air heavy with the scent of dust and disuse. John, tasked with clearing out his late uncle's estate, felt the weight of the years pressing down on him. He found the time capsule in the overgrown garden, buried beneath a crumbling birdbath. He had forgotten how long it took to feel the ground with the shovel.
